瞬間連写アクションポーズ02 殺陣・ソードアクション篇 [単行本]  and 瞬間連写アクションポーズ03 ヒロイン・アクション篇 [単行本]  Real Action Pose Books.

The sword one is neat because they have a kimono on and kimono off version of each shot most of the time. And the third book looks really nice, I hope I can find it. Bought this also from Kinokuniya in hopes one day I do an action comic mixing a storyboard/comic style for the action scenes. An example of this would be some panels Agasang did I still swoon over.

Also I wonder how many takes it took to get that cool scene down where he kicks the guys sword back in.

made a post about a basic summary with images on my process of character design and now I’m gonna add tips:

1) Brainstorming - taking down notes on what kind of character archetype I want to create helps me to think. Think about what traits are you going to implement and ask yourself a lot of questions e.g. will your story/environment effect the appearance of your character? What do they wear? Do they have any abilities or props/weapons?

2) Research - Remember that whatever environment your character is in, it will have to be reflected on the kind of attire they were. Other things you can research about are body physiques, facial structures, colour palettes, weapons, psychology…take inspiration from existing medias if you can.

3) Forming silhouettes - sometimes if I can’t imagine a character straight away or I am having trouble putting thought to paper, I always try to make a basic body form out of shapes

4 - 5) Sketching - Do not just doodle aimlessly! Think about your character’s anatomy and built or the shape/volume of their clothes, and how you can draw them. Always keep on asking yourself, ‘How am I going to draw this?’

welp, I hope this helps someone! Also don’t forget to have fun!!!

everyone dies like 99% of the time: Some facts about colors:

the-design-nerd:

image The color red is known to make people hungry, which is why it is a common color in restaurants (Chipotle, namely) and also raises blood pressure, both of which explain why straight men are so attracted to women in sexy red dresses.

image Orange tends to make rooms feel warmer and gives a strong sense of power to those within its walls; orange also stimulates a need to socialize.

image Our retinas sense the color yellow faster than any other color in the spectrum, so this is why school buses in America are painted yellow; yellow is also said to invoke both hunger and nausea, so I guess it depends on the person.

image The color green is believed to increase concentration as well as provide a sense of calm; unpleasant greens have been used as wall-color in factory bathrooms to increase production.

image Blue is the most common favorite color among people and also is known to produce a relaxing effect; using a blue lightbulb while reading or doing computer work at night can significantly reduce eye strain.

image The traditional color of royalty is purple, and painting a child’s room purple is said to increase imagination.

Check out the Design Nerd tag page to sort the photos by color and see designs in each color! What does each color mean to you?
